The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic started in the city of Wuhan in China in December 2019. It has been about one year since the first infections were detected there. In January 2020 the World Health Organization declared the SARS CoV2 infection a public health emergency of international concern.
Long Covid
Many people who had the Covid 19 infection have recovered uneventfully, some have needed admission into ICUs. Unfortunately some people have died. Amongst the people who recovered, many have been experiencing multiple symptoms for weeks or even months after they were supposed to have “recovered”.
If your symptoms have continued for longer than 4 weeks after a Covid 19 infection and they cannot be explained as any other disease, then you have Long Covid. Other terms used to describe this are Covid Long Haulers, Post-Covid Syndrome.
